Who Are We ?

We are the
Toowoomba & District Woodcrafters Inc.

Toowoomba is situated on the Darling Downs, on top of the Great Dividing Range (about 2 hours drive west of Brisbane) in sunny Queensland - "beautiful one day perfect the next". Toowoomba has a population of 80,000 and is the largest inland city in Queensland. Higher altitude and cooler climate produces our beautiful parks and gardens and the city is the educational centre for western Queensland, hosting the University of Southern Queensland.

Our club was formed in 1991 and we take an interest in all types of wood craft.
The club decided, soon after its formation, to become involved in civic activities.
After an early involvement with the local annual carnival of flowers we changed
focus and now conduct the annual woodcraft section at the Toowoomba Royal
Agricultural Show.

The club also provides opportunites for members and their families to socialise
with one another. We have produced a monthly newsletter since the club was
formed.

We have members who are skilled in woodturning, furniture making, woodcarving,
fretwork, etc. Some oftheir work is shown on the following pages.
