SAturn 2000 will
again be
held at the " El Shaddai" camping centre, run by the Christian Youth Camps of South Australia, at Wellington. The town
of
Wellington is aprox 18Km south of Murray Bridge on the banks of
the
Murray River. This will be a fully catered for weekend with
accommodation
limited to 100 people. Some caravan sites are available. The camp
has
excellent catering facilities, a large meeting room and very
large gymnasium
which will be the turning area. All areas are heated.
The historic town of Wellington
was surveyed in November 1840 and was
promoted as the best and most available passage over the River
Murray
between Port Philip and Adelaide. The first ferry was established
in 1849 and
charged 3d per passenger and 1/- per carriage. The ferry at
Wellington still
operates but now passage is free. You may want to use it if you
are travelling
to SAturn 2000 from east of the River Murray.
